What you will do:

- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement physiotherapy treatments for patients with acute stroke and respiratory conditions.
- Provide specialised physiotherapy care to patients in the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) and Acute Stroke Unit (ASU), integrating post-stroke recovery techniques.
- Conduct respiratory physiotherapy sessions, including airway clearance techniques and potential tracheostomy management.
- Develop personalised rehabilitation programmes in line with the patient’s needs, with a focus on achieving stroke competencies and enhancing patient mobility.
- Evaluate patient progress regularly and adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimise recovery.
- Engage in post-graduate training in stroke management to ensure delivery of the highest quality care.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental services through innovation and initiative.

Requirements:

- HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.
- Proven experience working within UK hospitals, specifically in acute settings and respiratory therapy.
- Considerable experience treating acute stroke patients, comfortable with HASU and ASU environments.
- Preferably completed stroke competencies or post-graduate stroke training.
- Ideally adept at managing tracheostomy patients, but flexibility in respiratory experience is acceptable.
