Shift: 4 on 3 off (Sunday cover required) | Flexible hours between 06:00 - 19:00

Job Role of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

A well-established FMCG manufacturer in Middlesbrough is looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its engineering team. Working within a busy production facility, you'll be responsible for keeping a range of semi-automated machinery running reliably through hands-on fault finding, breakdown response and general engineering support.

The role has a strong focus on reactive maintenance and problem solving, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys diagnosing faults and getting machinery back up and running quickly. Alongside breakdowns, you'll support small installations, equipment modifications and engineering improvements across the site, giving you plenty of variety in your day-to-day work.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience.
• Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge (Inputs/Outputs).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical fault finding (3-phase, motors, sensors and inverters).
• Motor wiring and testing.
• Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains and pneumatics.
• Reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Small machinery installations and modifications.
• Production machinery maintenance.
• Continuous Improvement mindset.
• Good communication and Health & Safety awareness.

Desirable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical bias.
• Food or FMCG manufacturing experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
