Management Accountant
Stoke-on-Trent
Hours : Monday to Friday : 8:00 am - 5:30pm
Salary:Up to £60,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing and well-established business based in Stoke-on-Trent. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting business growth while gaining broad exposure across the finance function.
This position is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to develop their skills, take on increased responsibility and become a trusted member of a close-knit finance team. The role offers genuine opportunities for career progression within a stable and expanding organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger functions
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process
- Post journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Contribute to month-end close activities and financial reporting
- Support stock control processes and perform stock reconciliations
- Identify and implement finance process improvements
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to support strategic and operational finance activities
Skills & Experience Required
- Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant
- Proven experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes
- Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- Sage accounting software experience is essential
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and financial reporting
- Ability to analyse financial data and provide meaningful business insights
- Experience within a stock-led or inventory-based environment would be advantageous
- Highly organised, proactive and capable of working independently
- Strong communication skills and a desire to develop within a growing business
