Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bushey
Salary: £43,000
Shift: Double Days (6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm)
Job Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be working within a regulated GMP manufacturing environment, ensuring all machinery and site services are maintained to a high standard. You will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, supporting the smooth operation of the site and minimising downtime.
This role will involve working across both production equipment and site utilities, playing a key part in maintaining efficiency, reliability, and compliance with strict site standards. You will also work closely with production and quality teams, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Sector: Manufacturing (GMP Environment)
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Strong electrical or mechanical maintenance background
- Experience working within a manufacturing or regulated environment
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Experience working with site utilities (HVAC, compressed air, steam systems)
- Ability to fault find and work independently
Requirements:
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery and equipment
- Proven experience working with site utilities including HVAC systems, compressed air, and steam systems
- Ability to carry out maintenance, fault finding, and basic repairs on utility equipment
- Understanding of how utilities support production and site operations
- Experience monitoring and maintaining system performance to ensure efficiency and reliability
- Knowledge of safety procedures when working with pressurised and temperature-controlled systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Ability to carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a team
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience working within a GMP environment
- Familiarity with boilers, chillers, air compressors, and associated distribution systems
- Basic PLC knowledge
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Continuous improvement experience
