Locum Dental Nurse in Derby, West Midlands

Flourish Medical is looking for experienced Locum Dental Nurses to support a variety of dental practices across Burton upon Trent and nearby towns, including Swadlincote, Tutbury, Branston, Stretton, and Uttoxeter.

This role is perfect for Dental Nurses seeking flexible working, consistent locum shifts, and the opportunity to gain experience across NHS, mixed, and private practices.

Please note: Candidates requiring visa sponsorship are not eligible. UK dental nursing experience is essential, and you must be fully qualified and registered with the GDC.

· £18 per hour competitive locum rate – equates to £33,696 per annum based on 36 hours

Required Skills & Experience for this Locum Dental Nurse:

· Be a fully qualified Dental Nurse with current GDC registration.

· Have recent UK dental nursing experience.

· Knowledge of dental software systems (e.g. SOE, R4 or similar)

· Be confident working chairside in a busy clinical environment.

· Have a strong knowledge of infection control, decontamination, and CQC standards.

· Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS and valid indemnity insurance.

As a Locum Dental Nurse, your responsibilities may include:

· Assisting dentists chairside during a range of treatments

· Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring all instruments are ready and sterilised.

· Maintaining strict infection control and decontamination protocols

· Supporting and reassuring patients throughout their visit

· Accurately updating and maintaining clinical notes

· Working closely with the wider practice team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Assignments are available across Burton upon Trent and surrounding towns such as Swadlincote, Tutbury, Branston, Stretton, and Uttoxeter. Most practices are easily accessible by car and public transport, making this an ideal locum opportunity for Dental Nurses living locally or in nearby Staffordshire areas.
