What you will do:

  • Liaise with the Building Preservation Trust, Ward Councillors, and other stakeholders to identify and support buildings and heritage assets needing assistance or enforcement.
  • Guide heritage asset owners towards funding and support avenues.
  • Provide expert advice on enforcement, planning law, policies, and guidelines, ensuring adherence to best practices and corporate goals.
  • Evaluate and recommend decisions on planning applications and enforcement complaints, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Conduct necessary enforcement actions and provide professional testimony in public inquiries or court settings.
  • Monitor and report on planning conditions, obligations, and development progress.
  • Facilitate the regeneration of sites and areas by providing consultation and professional planning input.
  • Enhance communication with stakeholders and the development industry to raise quality and compliance.
  • Promote positive engagement across various council sectors and public communities.
