What You'll Be Doing

As a Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive and challenging lessons across the secondary curriculum.
  • Work with pupils across different year groups and abilities to support their academic and personal development.
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional guidance.
  • Support students with a range of SEN and additional learning needs, helping to remove barriers to learning.
  • Deliver interventions designed to improve literacy, numeracy, subject knowledge and confidence.
  • Support positive behaviour and encourage students to develop independence, resilience and self-confidence.
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, teachers and wider school staff.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this opportunity, you'll need:

  • A 2:1 degree or above, or be predicted to achieve one.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, proactive and professional approach.
  • The enthusiasm to learn from experienced teachers and school leaders.
  • Strong subject knowledge, particularly if you are interested in progressing into secondary teacher training.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with young people.
  • An ambition to build a long-term career within secondary education.
  • The right to work full-time in the UK.

Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential. We're particularly interested in graduates who can demonstrate enthusiasm, resilience, commitment and the potential to make a genuine difference to students' education.
