KPI Education is working with a high-performing secondary school in Westminster to recruit an outstanding Graduate Oxbridge Teaching Assistant for September 2026.

This role is ideal for graduates with a 2:1 or above in a core academic subject, particularly English, Maths or Science, who are passionate about education and want to develop their experience working with secondary-age students.

The Role

As a Graduate Oxbridge Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, providing academic and classroom support to students.

You will use your strong subject knowledge to help pupils understand challenging topics, build confidence and develop effective study habits. You will also have the opportunity to work with high-achieving students through extension and enrichment activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers during lessons across English, Maths and Science.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support.
  • Help students develop their understanding of challenging subject content.
  • Support high-attaining pupils with extension and enrichment work.
  • Assist with lesson preparation, resources and classroom activities.
  • Help students develop revision, exam and independent learning skills.
  • Support positive behaviour and maintain a focused classroom environment.
  • Monitor student engagement and contribute to progress tracking.
  • Build positive relationships with students and encourage academic confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an academically strong graduate who can demonstrate:

  • A 2:1 degree or above, ideally from Oxbridge or a Russell Group university.
  • Strong knowledge of a core academic subject, particularly English, Maths or Science.
  • A genuine interest in secondary education and teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working with young people.
  • The ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
  • A proactive, resilient and professional approach.
  • Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work is beneficial but not essential.
