£24,000–£27,000 per annum | Full-Time | Alternative Provision | ASAP Start

Are you a Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or Sports Science graduate looking for a career where you can genuinely change lives?

Do you have the personality, patience and resilience to connect with young people who have struggled in mainstream education?

Could you be the positive role model who helps a young person rediscover their confidence, rebuild their self-belief and achieve something extraordinary?

KPI Education is searching for an exceptional Graduate Behaviour Mentor / Youth Mentor to join a specialist Alternative Provision setting in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

This is not your typical Teaching Assistant position.

We're looking for someone who can inspire, challenge and support young people facing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Some students may have experienced disrupted education, challenging circumstances or difficulties engaging with traditional classroom environments.

They don't need someone to simply supervise them. They need someone who believes in them.

The Opportunity

  • Salary: £24,000–£27,000 per annum
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • Setting: Specialist Alternative Provision / SEMH
  • Employment: Long-term, with potential permanent opportunities
  • Essential: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Progression: Ideal experience for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, Youth Workers and Behaviour Specialists

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Graduate Behaviour Mentor, you'll play a vital role in helping young people overcome barriers to education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one mentoring and targeted behavioural support.
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism and additional learning difficulties.
  • Building meaningful relationships through trust, consistency and positive reinforcement.
  • Delivering engaging educational activities and personal development sessions.
  • Helping young people develop emotional regulation, resilience and essential life skills.
  • Supporting students to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and external professionals.

Who Are We Looking For?

We want graduates who bring energy, empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Education, Sports Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with children or young people through mentoring, coaching, tutoring or youth work.
  • Confidence supporting challenging behaviour and emotional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience and emotional intelligence.
  • A genuine interest in SEND, alternative education and youth development.

Previous experience in a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEMH setting is desirable but not essential.

Why Apply Through KPI Education?
