VGC Group are looking for experienced Drainage Ganger to start on a project in Water Orton. This contract is available to start ASAP and we can offer up to 3 years worth of work.

Drainage Ganger experience

Your role as a Drainage Ganger will be based in Water Orton and will consist of:

Lead and supervise a team carrying out drainage and groundwork operations on site.
Oversee the installation of drainage systems including pipes, manholes, gullies, and associated groundwork.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
Ensure all drainage works are completed to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Read and interpret site drawings, utility plans, and drainage layouts.
Carry out and supervise excavation, trenching, pipe laying, and backfilling activities safely and efficiently.
Monitor progress of works and ensure tasks are completed within project deadlines.
Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to health and safety regulations.
Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards on site.
Coordinate with site management, plant operators, and subcontractors to maintain workflow efficiency.
Inspect completed drainage works to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
Maintain accurate records of work activities, progress, and any incidents.
Ensure all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow all safety protocols and report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with setting out and ensuring levels and gradients are achieved correctly for drainage installation.

Based in Water Orton remuneration for this role is £20.67 per hour PAYE, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
