Lead Complex Engineering Projects from Concept to Completion
Our Client has a requirement for an Engineering Project Manager, who will be required to work on a Contract basis.
Role Purpose:
- Lead Capital Expenditure projects from concept through to handover.
- Drive project progress and take ownership of successful project outcomes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising activities based on risk.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of engineering projects.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and change control processes.
- Lead and influence multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain high standards of project documentation and reporting.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote and lead a strong health and safety culture across project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant construction and industrial safety regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Translate project requirements into technical engineering specifications.
- Manage external design partners and review technical designs for quality and compliance.
- Lead design reviews and ensure technical integrity of engineering solutions.
- Support infrastructure, automation, networking, control systems, and integration projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cost, sustainability, and process improvements.
- Manage supplier and contractor performance, including cost, quality, safety, and delivery.
- Develop project budgets, cashflow forecasts, and support commercial decision-making.
- Maintain strong relationships with operational, technical, and leadership stakeholders.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Extensive project management experience delivering engineering capital projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, switchgear, motor control, and inverter systems.
- Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) and industrial networking environments.
- Experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI platforms.
- Experience delivering brownfield and greenfield infrastructure and network upgrade projects.
- Practical awareness of ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards.
- Experience delivering IT/OT integration projects, including OT cybersecurity risk management.
- Knowledge of process and packaging equipment integration.
- Broad engineering understanding across civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and control systems disciplines.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors, commercial risk, and project budgets.
- Knowledge of relevant safety legislation, including CDM, machine safety, and process safety requirements.
