Contract: 3 Months
Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: £17.53 per hour PAYE | £22.68 per hour Umbrella
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Education Lead to join a local authority service in Birmingham on a 3-month contract.
This is a vital safeguarding role focused on ensuring children and young people affected by domestic abuse receive timely and appropriate support within educational settings.
The Role
The Domestic Abuse Education Lead will oversee the effective delivery of Operation Encompass, ensuring that notifications relating to domestic abuse incidents are shared promptly with education settings. You will act as the key link between police, business support teams, and schools to ensure information is communicated efficiently and sensitively.
The role also involves providing guidance and support to education professionals so they can respond appropriately to children who may be experiencing trauma linked to domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the smooth and timely delivery of Operation Encompass notifications to education settings.
- Liaise with police and business support teams to ensure alerts are processed and distributed without delay.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to schools and education professionals on responding to domestic abuse notifications.
- Promote best practice in safeguarding children affected by domestic abuse.
- Support education settings in developing confidence and understanding around trauma-informed approaches.
- Monitor processes to ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and information-sharing protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes to strengthen multi-agency working.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working within safeguarding, domestic abuse services, education, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people.
- Experience working in partnership with multi-agency professionals, including police and education services.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and information-sharing protocols.
