Dental Therapist in Derby, East Midlands

Flourish Medical is seeking an experienced Dental Therapist to join a modern, well-equipped dental practice in Derby on a part-time basis (2 days per week). This is an ideal opportunity for a therapist looking for flexible, consistent work while maintaining a good work–life balance. This role is looking to commence May 2026 to cover a maternity cover.

The practice treats a mix of NHS and private patients and offers a well-managed diary, giving you the chance to focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a supportive, contemporary environment.

Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this position. You must have UK dental experience and be fully qualified and registered with the GDC as a Dental Therapist.

Working with Flourish Medical as a Dental Therapist offers you:

· £38 - £40 per hour, equating to £33,592 –£35,360 per annum (based on 17 hours per week) on a self employed basis

· Regular sessions 2 days a week, working from 8.30am–5.00pm

· Consistent temporary work on an ongoing basis

· Predominantly NHS patients in a mixed setting

· Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement

· Flexibility, clear communication, and professional guidance

Required Skills & Experience for this Dental Therapist:

· Be GDC-registered as a Dental Therapist

· Have experience working with direct access patients

· Demonstrate strong NHS dentistry skills

· Be confident performing the full scope of Dental Therapist duties

· Work independently and as part of a wider dental team

This role is suitable for Dental Therapists.

As a Dental Therapist, your responsibilities may include:

· Providing direct access care to NHS and private patients

· Delivering preventive and periodontal treatments

· Carrying out restorative procedures within your scope of practice

· Promoting oral health education and preventive dentistry

· Maintaining accurate, compliant clinical records

· Collaborating with the wider dental team for seamless patient care

This role is based in Derby and is easily accessible by car or public transport, making it a convenient locum opportunity for Dental Therapists living in Derby or surrounding towns, including Alvaston, Mackworth, Spondon, Borrowash, Littleover, and Allestree.
