As a Cleaner employed by Nottingham City Council, you will be integral to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all our students, staff, and visitors. What you will do:
- Perform daily cleaning routines including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing across the school premises.
- Ensure all toilets, washrooms, and kitchen areas are hygienically cleaned and maintained in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Efficiently manage waste by emptying bins and utilising recycling practices.
- Keep supplies such as soap and paper products well-stocked and readily available.
- Use cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner, adhering to COSHH regulations.
- Promptly report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Complete all assigned cleaning tasks on schedule and to high standards.
- Be prepared to secure different areas of the school if necessary.
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions at the school.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Act in ways that ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people.
- Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
- Immediately report any safeguarding issues to the designated lead.

Person Specification:
Essential:

- Ability to work solo or as part of a dynamic team.
- Understanding of basic cleaning techniques and safe handling of materials.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to producing good work.
- Awareness of workplace health and safety practices.
- Capacity to maintain discretion within the school environment.

Desirable:
- Experience in cleaning roles, particularly in school settings.
- Familiarity with COSHH regulations.
- Background in public sector or education-related work.
