Children's Community Nurse within Children's Community Nursing in Newham, earning £30.00 per hour. This exciting 3-month locum opportunity is based at Appleby Health Centre (E16 1LQ) and offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. What you will do
• Community Nursing Care: Deliver specialist nursing care to children and young people within community settings.
• Assessment and Planning: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using a family-centred approach.
• Referral Management: Triage and assess new referrals, prioritising urgent cases appropriately.
• Discharge Support: Facilitate safe and effective hospital discharges into the community.
• Equipment Provision: Assess and arrange equipment and supplies to meet individual care requirements.
• Family Education: Teach and empower children and families to safely manage complex healthcare needs at home.
• Care Reviews: Regularly review and adapt care plans in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Emotional Support: Provide compassionate support to children, young people, and their families.
• Inclusive Communication: Work effectively with interpreters and adapt communication methods to meet diverse needs.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Nursing Registration: Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN/RN Child) with current NMC registration.
• Experience: Previous experience within children's nursing is essential.
• Community Experience: Community paediatric nursing experience is desirable.
• Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and care planning abilities.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• DBS: Enhanced DBS check required.
