Role Purpose

As a Senior Practitioner, you will manage a protected caseload of complex cases while providing practice leadership, mentoring, and high-level safeguarding expertise. You will play a key role in driving quality practice, ensuring children’s plans are robust, timely, and focused on safety, permanence, and wellbeing.


What You Will Do

  • Hold a protected caseload involving complex Child Protection, Child in Need, and court proceedings.

  • Lead safeguarding interventions, undertake Section 47 enquiries, and complete high-quality assessments.

  • Develop, implement, and review comprehensive care plans that ensure the safety, stability, and positive outcomes for children.

  • Prepare, present, and deliver high-standard court statements, reports, and evidence.

  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and support to less experienced social workers, promoting reflective and consistent practice.

  • Work collaboratively with health, education, police, and partner agencies, attending multi-agency meetings and advocating for children’s needs.

  • Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure all work complies with statutory requirements and local procedures.
