What you will do
• Clinical Pharmacy Services: Provide expert pharmaceutical care to patients receiving haematology and oncology treatments.
• Medicines Optimisation: Review, verify, and optimise medication regimens to support safe and effective patient care.
• Multidisciplinary Working: Collaborate closely with consultants, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
• Patient Counselling: Educate and support patients and their families regarding medications, treatment plans, and potential side effects.
• Clinical Trials: Support and contribute to clinical research and trial activity within the haematology service.
• Specialist Advice: Provide expert guidance on complex medication-related issues and treatment protocols.
• Governance and Compliance: Ensure pharmacy practice complies with GPhC standards, organisational policies, and national guidance.
• Service Development: Participate in service improvement projects, audits, and quality initiatives to enhance pharmaceutical care.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation to support safe and effective practice.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Pharmacy Qualification: Master's Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Specialist Experience: Significant experience within hospital pharmacy, including haematology and/or oncology services.
• Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of systemic anti-cancer therapies, haematology treatments, and medicines optimisation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Multidisciplinary Working: Proven ability to work effectively within specialist healthcare teams.
• Analytical Skills: Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities.
• Driving Requirement: Full UK driving licence is essential.
