What you will do
- Deliver specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments and treatments for stroke patients.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and manage communication disorders following a stroke.
- Assess and manage dysphagia and swallowing difficulties post-stroke.
- Implement intensive community rehabilitation programmes following hospital discharge.
- Facilitate the transition of patients from acute stroke services into community rehabilitation.
- Coordinate with Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy Services for onward care.
- Manage an independent caseload of complex neurological patients efficiently.
- Develop and deliver evidence-based treatment programmes.
- Provide insightful education, support, and advice to patients, families, and carers.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary stroke rehabilitation team.
- Conduct specialist assessments, and generate comprehensive reports, referrals, and recommendations.
- Guide and supervise students, assistants, and junior staff where needed.
- Engage in clinical audit, research, and service development activities to enhance practice.
