What you will do:

• Perform a range of respiratory diagnostic tests, including spirometry, lung function testing, and gas transfer analysis

• Prepare patients and explain procedures, ensuring informed consent and patient comfort

• Operate and maintain respiratory diagnostic equipment in line with clinical standards

• Analyse and interpret physiological data, identifying abnormal results and escalating where appropriate

• Produce accurate and timely clinical reports and documentation

Person specification:

Qualifications

• Degree in Clinical Physiology, Healthcare Science, or a related discipline

Registration & Certification

• Registration with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) (or working towards)

• Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

• Enhanced DBS

Key Skills

• Strong technical knowledge of respiratory physiology and lung function testing

• Ability to analyse and interpret physiological data accurately

• Excellent communication and patient-care skills

• High attention to detail and clinical accuracy

• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

• Good IT and reporting skills

Experience

• Experience working as a Respiratory Physiologist or within a respiratory diagnostics service

• Experience performing spirometry, lung function testing, and other respiratory investigations

• Experience working in an NHS or hospital setting

• Experience supervising or supporting junior staff is desirable
