What you will do:

• Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and support planning for adults affected by alcohol and substance misuse.
• Manage a complex caseload, applying strengths-based and relationship-focused social work practice.
• Lead and contribute to safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act, where substance misuse contributes to abuse, neglect, or self-neglect.
• Complete risk assessments and implement proportionate interventions to reduce harm and promote independence.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Successful completion of ASYE or willingness to undertake if newly qualified.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Registration & Compliance:

• Current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
• Sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended), Human Rights Act 1998, Equality Act 2010, Adult Safeguarding procedures, and Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
