About the Organisation

Seven Resourcing is recruiting on behalf of a charity at the heart of the LGBT+ community, which offers vital support to victims and survivors of abuse and violence. The organisation empowers people to rebuild their lives after experiences such as domestic abuse, hate crime, sexual violence, and so-called conversion practices.

Run by and for LGBT+ people, the charity’s mission is to create a safer, fairer world for the community. It delivers frontline support services, operates national helplines, and advocates for policy change to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors across the UK.

How You’ll Help Others

As a Helpline Adviser, you’ll be a trusted and caring point of contact for LGBT+ individuals seeking support. You’ll listen without judgement, offer emotional reassurance, and provide practical guidance to help people navigate moments of crisis or uncertainty.

You’ll handle calls, emails, and webchats from those in need, assessing risks, offering safeguarding advice, and connecting people to relevant local or national services. Every interaction is an opportunity to make someone feel heard, supported, and less alone.

This is a role that combines empathy, professionalism, and purpose — ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference through direct, person-centred support.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with experience in supporting individuals in distress, whether through helpline, advocacy, or frontline work. You’ll have a calm and compassionate approach, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations and provide reassurance under pressure.

You’ll also bring:

  • An understanding of the issues and barriers faced by LGBT+ communities.
  • Experience providing trauma-informed, person-centred support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to assess risk and handle safeguarding concerns confidently.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evening shifts on a set rota.

Why Join Seven Resourcing?

This is a locum opportunity, meaning you’ll be employed directly by Seven Resourcing while carrying out your assignment with the charity. You’ll receive ongoing support from our dedicated team throughout your placement.
