The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
Work closely with teachers and behaviour mentors to implement personalised behaviour and support plans
Encourage and guide pupils through moments of frustration or anxiety, helping them develop coping and social skills
Assist with classroom routines, lesson activities, and transitions throughout the school day
Foster a safe, supportive, and consistent learning environment where every student feels valued and understood

Person Specification

A degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, or a related field (essential)
Previous experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEN, or SEMH (desirable but not essential)
Calm, patient, and resilient with a positive and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and reach their potential
