Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–15:30pm
Salary: £500–£600 per week
Start Date: September 2025

This excellent secondary school in Wandsworth is attached to an Autism Resource Centre, a specialist provision, supporting students aged 11–18 who can access the curriculum but benefit from additional targeted input. Students may receive small-group teaching in the Autism Resource Centre (ARC) as well as tailored support in their mainstream classes.
The ARC is fully equipped with specialist resources, including modern sensory facilities, therapeutic interventions, and speech and language support, enabling students with autism to develop academically, socially and emotionally. Staffed by specialist teachers, therapists and experienced support staff, the ARC offers a rich environment for both students and graduates beginning their careers.
Now expanding their team, the ARC is looking for a passionate Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and dynamic setting.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- A degree (2:1 or higher) in Psychology, Education, Special Educational Needs and Disability, Childhood Studies or a related field
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with autism and communication needs
- An empathetic, patient, and resilient nature
- A desire to pursue a career in SEN, mental health, or education
- Some prior experience working with children or young people (desirable, not essential)
The Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Deliver personalised academic and emotional support to students with autism
- Work with pupils in both the ARC and mainstream classrooms to ensure they thrive
- Support social communication, emotional regulation and independence skills
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to provide holistic care
- Develop your understanding of EHCPs, adaptive teaching strategies and early intervention
