A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a full-time role offering valuable classroom experience, ideal for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or therapists.
About the Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils who have special educational needs, providing one-to-one and small group support. Many of the children you’ll work with may have autism, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
You’ll support these pupils in accessing the curriculum, adapting activities under the guidance of the class teacher, and helping them develop confidence, independence, and positive relationships. Your presence will make a real difference in their school life.
What We’re Looking For

A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology, Education, Child Development, or a related subject

A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children

An interest in SEN and inclusive education

Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset

Previous experience with children (in school or other settings) is a bonus but not essential
