What you will do:
- Work within our multi-disciplinary team providing specialised occupational therapy to individuals with acquired brain injury ABI, using the BIRT neurobehavioral model.
- Manage and prioritise a caseload of service users with complex needs, with the support and supervision of senior OTs for challenging cases.
- Assess, formulate, and implement treatment plans using evidence-based, service-user centred principles.
- Address occupational skill deficits to enhance self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure activities for service users.
- Develop and oversee care programmes, including handover to support workers, and regularly evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Assess and coordinate the provision of appropriate equipment, providing necessary training to users and families.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate group interventions aligned with service users’ goals.
- Offer guidance on social and lifestyle needs and make referrals to external services as necessary.
About You:
You will hold a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC. Ideally, you bring at least 18 months of post-registration experience in inpatient or community rehabilitation, as well as 6 months of prequalification experience in a relevant role. Experience working with individuals with neurological deficits or acquired brain injury is essential, along with knowledge of specialist interventions used in neurological rehabilitation.
