Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory social work assessments in line with the Children Act 1989 and relevant legislation.

• Visit children and families to gather information, assess needs, and evaluate risks.

• Identify safeguarding concerns and initiate Section 47 enquiries where necessary.

• Participate in child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and multi-agency planning sessions.

• Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans collaboratively with stakeholders.

• Manage a varied caseload while meeting statutory deadlines and quality standards.

• Maintain accurate, timely records and prepare reports for court and panel hearings.

• Work in partnership with schools, health services, police, and voluntary agencies.

• Provide high-quality written evidence for court and act as a professional witness when required.
