Position: Deputy Ward Manager
Location: Tautenay Ward, Oberlands Centre, Guernsey
Salary: £47,946.00 – £64,108.00 annually
Contract Type: Full Time / Part Time
We are currently seeking an inspiring and skilled Deputy Ward Manager to join the esteemed team at Tautenay Ward, an 8-bedded Older Adult Acute Assessment Ward located in the heart of Guernsey’s Specialist Mental Health service at the Oberlands Centre.

What You Will Do:

Lead and support the ward in the Ward Manager’s absence.

Mentor and supervise junior staff, ensuring professional standards are maintained.

Conduct holistic assessments and implement person-centred care plans for patients with complex mental health needs.

Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions with autonomy and confidence.

Promote active patient participation in care planning and decision-making.

Utilize evidence-based practices to support effective care delivery.

Act as a role model and educator for patients, families, and colleagues.

Uphold safety and risk management practices at all times.
Qualifications and Criteria:

Registered Nurse with mentorship/assessor qualifications.

Significant experience in mental health care, particularly in dementia and challenging behaviour.

Evidence of continuous professional development.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Calm, adaptable, and confident in high-pressure situations.
