What you will do:

- Manage complex cases involving children in care, including those involved in care proceedings.
- Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs and risks, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring these plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Build positive relationships with children in care, their families, and foster carers, providing essential support and guidance.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies (such as schools, healthcare providers, and legal services), and community resources to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the child's needs.
- Offer support, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced social workers, including those undertaking their ASYE year.
- Prepare reports, attend court hearings, and represent the local authority's views on care planning and permanency planning.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practice guidelines, ensuring the team's work reflects these standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work undertaken in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Lead safeguarding initiatives, identifying potential risks and taking appropriate measures to protect children from harm.
