What you will do:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users’ needs, risks, and strengths in line with statutory frameworks and local policies.
- Engage with individuals, families, carers, and other professionals to gather relevant information.
- Make professional judgments regarding safeguarding and protection concerns and initiate appropriate safeguarding procedures when necessary.
- Develop and implement person-centred care and support plans.
- Liaise and collaborate with partner agencies including health services, education, housing, and the police to coordinate care and support.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records.
- Provide advice and information to service users and their families about available services and support options.
- Attend and contribute to case conferences, multi-agency meetings, and court proceedings as required.
- Work within legislative frameworks such as the Children Act, Care Act, or Mental Health Act.
- Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Qualified Social Worker with recognised accreditation, such as HCPC registration in the UK.
- Experience in conducting social work assessments, preferably within a statutory or local authority setting.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and social care practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Resilience and the ability to manage complex and emotionally challenging situations.

Desirable:

- Experience in working with children and families or adults with complex needs.
- Additional training or qualifications in safeguarding, risk assessment, or mental health.

Working Conditions:

This is an office-based role with frequent visits to service users’ homes or other community settings. It may involve evening or emergency duty responsibilities, depending on service requirements.
