Location: Barnet, North London
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, 1-Year Fixed Term

Do you want to gain school-based experience before pursuing a PGCE or educational psychology pathway?
A high-performing secondary school in Barnet is seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Academic Mentor to work with students across KS3–KS5. You’ll play a key role in improving academic outcomes, particularly for pupils who need extra support in core subjects.
The Role:
- Providing subject-specific academic support (particularly in English, maths, science or humanities)
- Working 1:1 or with small groups to deliver structured interventions
- Helping pupils revise and prepare for GCSEs and A-levels
- Assisting in the planning of booster sessions and academic catch-up
- Supporting pupil engagement, confidence and independent study skills
This is an ideal role for graduates aiming to become subject-specialist teachers or move into educational support and mentoring careers.
Requirements:
- A graduate with a 2:2 or above in any academic subject (English, science, maths, history, geography, etc.)
- Confident communicator, especially when explaining ideas or helping with revision
- Enthusiastic, patient, and reliable
- Previous tutoring or mentoring experience is desirable but not essential
