What you will do:
- Work closely with children and young people aged 10-18 who have offended or are at risk of offending, guiding their rehabilitation and desistance from crime with evidence-based methods.
- Assess individual needs and circumstances using mandated tools to create personalised intervention plans that aim at reducing reoffending and managing risks effectively.
- Supervise and support children with complex needs including mental health issues, substance misuse or safeguarding concerns, ensuring tailored guidance.
- Actively engage with families to foster supportive home environments and address root causes of offending behaviours.
- Collaborate in a multi-agency context with social workers, police, health services, education staff, probation officers, courts, and secure establishments for cohesive youth support and resettlement post-custody.
- Prepare and manage court-ordered interventions, ready court reports, and represent young people's interests within legal frameworks.
- Conduct regular risk evaluations to make informed decisions on young people's safety, wellbeing, and progression.
- Undertake office duty tasks like crisis intervention and acting as an appropriate adult during police interviews for young people.
- Drive service development in specific areas such as education or restorative justice, carrying out specialist assessments and leading initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely records on case management systems while ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies.
