Job Opportunity: Band 6 Drug and Alcohol Professional/Duty and Support Officer

What you will do:

  • Act as a Duty Officer, providing initial contact and support to patients outside of scheduled appointments, including drug testing and prescription issuing.
  • Take self-referrals and screen new referrals, prioritising according to the Drug and Alcohol Team's eligibility criteria.
  • Serve as a keyworker to patients of low complexity, working within a multidisciplinary team to assess, intervene, and support individuals with substance use issues.
  • Support community detoxification efforts and offer post-detox relapse prevention.
  • Manage your time efficiently, making independent professional decisions about care delivery.
  • Assess and manage risk collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, adapting treatment approaches as needed.
