We have an exciting opportunity for a Fostering Panel Advisor (Social Worker) within Lambeth, earning £44.04 hourly on a locum basis for 3 months. This role requires 2 days per week in the office, providing ample flexibility around your other commitments. What you will do:

  • Support the Agency Decision Making Process by quality assuring reports presented to panels as well as non-panel annual reviews.
  • Provide communication and liaison between panels and the Service and brief the Service Manager and Agency Decision Maker on Panel matters.
  • Ensure statutory requirements are upheld under Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards March 2011, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010, and Children’s Act 2004.
  • Manage the panel administrator to ensure effective administration of the fostering panels.
  • Assist the agency, in consultation with the panel’s chairperson(s), in the appointment, termination, and review of members of the fostering panels.

About You:

  • You are a Social Work Registered professional with a deep understanding of fostering.
  • Demonstrated experience in a statutory setting with children, adept at making professional judgments that lead to improved outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
  • A comprehensive understanding of national policy and developments in children's social care, along with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Effective communication skills and a knack for building relationships with professionals and organisations to benefit children and foster carers.
  • Ability to perform holistic assessments of children and families/foster carers while developing tailored support plans.
  • Skilled in producing analytical reports and assessments with a focus on action-oriented outcomes.
