Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
Are you an experienced operator with a passion for road freight and customer service?
Our clients, a well-established freight forwarding business based in Basildon, are seeking a Freight Forwarding Road Operator to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a busy and friendly department focused on delivering high-quality logistics services across the UK and beyond.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Handling and processing road freight bookings
- Providing accurate, cost-effective quotations in a timely manner
- Coordinating deliveries and liaising with third-party contractors and overseas offices
- Building strong relationships with customers and ensuring their needs are met
- Supporting sales and customer service teams with bookings and shipment updates
- Creating and maintaining SOPs
- Managing key accounts and resolving customer issues efficiently
- Overseeing invoicing, administration and financial compliance
- Using IT systems to track and manage shipments
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in road freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of UK and European freight services and market rates
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team
- A proactive and detail-focused approach
What You'll Receive:
- Salary up to £30,000 (depending on experience)
