The Opportunity
Are you a recent graduate with experience working with children, looking to build a career in education? We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Leamington Spa, seeking a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This full-time, term-time only role is perfect for an aspiring primary school teacher. You’ll gain practical, hands-on classroom experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), working alongside supportive teaching staff to make a meaningful impact on young learners.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons across core subjects including English, Maths, and Phonics
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to help pupils reach their potential
- Assist with classroom management and the delivery of planned learning activities
- Support pupils with additional learning needs or English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Encourage positive social skills, behaviour, and pupil engagement
- Get involved in extracurricular activities, school trips, and wider school life
Who We’re Looking For
For the Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role, we are looking for passionate graduates who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 2:1 degree in any subject (Education, Psychology, English, or related subjects desirable)
- Previous experience working with children (e.g., in a school, tutoring, mentoring, summer camps, sports coaching, Scouts/Guides, etc.) – essential
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and compassionate approach to supporting pupils
- A clear desire to pursue a career in primary teaching
