Graduate Academic Mentor – Kettering Secondary School

Looking to launch a meaningful career in education while gaining valuable, paid classroom experience?

An inclusive and progressive secondary school in Kettering – part of a high-achieving Multi Academy Trust – is seeking passionate and driven graduates to join its team as Graduate Academic Mentors from September 2025.

This is a full-time, salaried opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom, support students in their learning, and work alongside experienced educators in a dynamic school environment.

Subjects We’re Particularly Interested In:

• Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

• Mathematics

• Modern Foreign Languages (especially Spanish; some French)

• Geography

• Nutrition / Food Technology

• English

• History

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic support within your subject specialism and across broader curriculum areas

• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to boost student understanding and confidence

• Assist with lesson planning, resource development, and classroom management

• Promote an inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Gain insights into school operations and contribute to day-to-day teaching support

About You:

• Graduating in 2025 or recently graduated with a minimum 2:1 degree

• Ideally from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university

• Enthusiastic about education and committed to supporting young people’s success

• Strong subject knowledge in at least one of the target disciplines

• Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn

• Previous experience working with children or young people (formal or informal) is a plus, but not essential
