We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team in Cambridge. This locum role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time hours and a hybrid work model that enables you to maintain an excellent work-life balance. You’ll be based at Fawcett House, Trumpington for part of the week, while enjoying the convenience of remote working for the rest.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory visits to Children in Need (CIN), those subject to Child Protection (CP) plans, and Children in Care (CIC).

• Chair CIN and Core Group meetings, maintaining a child-centred focus throughout.

• Manage a diverse caseload, including CP, CIN, CIC, PLO, and Section 31 Care Proceedings.

• Prepare high-quality court reports, parenting assessments, and risk assessments to inform decision-making and legal proceedings.

• Attend court with support from your Team Manager or Senior Practitioner.

• Support the Duty rota, providing timely responses to urgent safeguarding issues.

• Write detailed reports and contribute to Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences (ICPC & RCPC).

• Promote positive change and safeguarding outcomes through risk assessment and robust care planning.
