We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team in Cambridge. This locum role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time hours and a hybrid work model that enables you to maintain an excellent work-life balance. You’ll be based at Fawcett House, Trumpington for part of the week, while enjoying the convenience of remote working for the rest.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory visits to Children in Need (CIN), those subject to Child Protection (CP) plans, and Children in Care (CIC).

Chair CIN and Core Group meetings, maintaining a child-centred focus throughout.

Manage a diverse caseload, including CP, CIN, CIC, PLO, and Section 31 Care Proceedings.

Prepare high-quality court reports, parenting assessments, and risk assessments to inform decision-making and legal proceedings.

Attend court with support from your Team Manager or Senior Practitioner.

Support the Duty rota, providing timely responses to urgent safeguarding issues.

Write detailed reports and contribute to Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences (ICPC & RCPC).

Promote positive change and safeguarding outcomes through risk assessment and robust care planning.
