Responsibilities of a Graduate Academic Mentor:
- Provide academic mentoring to KS3 and KS4 students
- Support English, Maths, and Science lessons as a Graduate Academic Mentor
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions tailored to student needs
- Track progress and help develop learning strategies
- Assist teachers in preparing engaging and inclusive lesson content
- Work with pupils with diverse needs, including SEN and EAL
- Promote positive behaviour and a focused classroom atmosphere
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families
- Use your subject knowledge to guide and motivate learners
- Gain the confidence and skills needed for future teaching or support roles
Graduate Academic Mentor – Ideal Candidate:
- A 2:1 or above in a relevant subject (English, Maths, Science preferred)
- Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
- Adaptable, professional, and enthusiastic in a school setting
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, youth work) is desirable
- A genuine passion for education and student achievement
