Key Responsibilities

Work collaboratively within a multi-agency team to assess and process referrals concerning children aged 0–18 received by MASH.

Gather, evaluate, and communicate health-related information from multiple sources while upholding patient confidentiality.

Interpret and share relevant clinical data to support multi-agency safeguarding decisions and outcomes.

Liaise with health professionals and provide accurate feedback, supervision, and support regarding MASH cases.

Ensure appropriate representation of health colleagues at key forums, including pre-birth planning, strategy discussions, and risk assessments.

Accurately record all activity in RIO (electronic patient record system) in line with NMC guidelines.

Participate in risk assessments, case planning, and discussions, contributing to robust, child-centred interventions.

Identify gaps in service provision and escalate concerns to enhance and strengthen safeguarding protocols.

Support the development of colleagues and ensure consistency in practice across the team.
Essential Criteria

Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) qualification.

Demonstrated experience working with children and families in the community.

Deep understanding of child safeguarding principles, policies, and frameworks from a health perspective.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple agencies.

Flexible, proactive, and reflective approach to nursing practice with a passion for innovative solutions in safeguarding.
