Overview

Step into a rewarding and impactful role with Harrow Council as a Locum Social Worker in the Safeguarding Adults and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality social work service focused on safeguarding adults at risk.

• Lead and conduct Section 42 enquiries, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014.

• Participate in Strategy Meetings and Case Conferences, collaborating with multi-agency partners.

• Develop and implement Protection Plans that promote safety, independence, and wellbeing.

• Carry out assessments and reviews in a variety of settings, including homes, hospitals, and care facilities.

• Provide duty cover one day per week to address urgent safeguarding concerns and ensure responsive interventions.

• Promote and uphold the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

• Proven experience in adult safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.

• Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and DoLS legislation.

• Excellent communication, analysis, and documentation skills.

• Ability to manage a complex caseload with autonomy and confidence.
