Job Title: Import Operations Clerk
Location: Felixstowe
About the Role:
A well-established freight forwarding client is seeking an experienced and proactive Import Operations Coordinator to join their busy team in Felixstowe.
This is a hands-on operational role, working directly with the import team to manage container movements, handle documentation, and support seamless end-to-end delivery of ocean freight shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional service to clients, coordinating import activities
- Ensure shipments are cleared, released, and delivered efficiently and profitably.
- Work closely with customs clearance teams to track and support the timely completion of import entries.
- Coordinate container deliveries, liaising with hauliers and ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Request and process import releases from shipping lines, including handling necessary authorisations and payments.
- Chase and collate required shipping documentation.
- Communicate regularly with third-party agents and customers to keep them informed and resolve any issues promptly.
We're looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of customs procedures, transportation, as well as the flow of import, export, and cross-trade ocean freight shipments.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Freight, Shipping or Import operations environment.
- Ideally knowledge of customs processes and familiarity with Destin8 and CNS platforms.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and internal logistics systems.
