Quantity Surveyor in Cornwall, South West

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will manage the commercial aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contracts, company policies, and client expectations. The role may be independent or supervised by a senior QS and requires collaboration within an integrated team. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will help control project costs, monitor financial performance, and maintain communication between project stakeholders, all while ensuring that the project progresses efficiently within its financial framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue accurate notices and correspondence as Quantity Surveyor
- Prepare or assess valuations, cost/value reconciliations, and payment applications
- Monitor costs, forecasting, and contribute to monthly financial reports as Quantity Surveyor
- Provide contractual advice and prepare payment certificates
- Assist with risk management and develop responses to commercial risks
- Support procurement and contract strategies, including supply chain negotiations
- As Quantity Surveyor, liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Maintain project records and meeting documentation for clarity and consistency
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years' post-graduate experience in construction (commercial role)
- Strong financial and commercial acumen as Quantity Surveyor
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proven ability in cost control, procurement, and contract management
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- RICS/CICES accredited degree (or enrolled) with relevant experience
