What you will do:

• Participate in the development and updating of speciality-related PGDs, supporting training and conducting regular audits where medicines are administered and supplied.
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of medicines-related guidelines, SOPs, and policies, ensuring alignment with best practices and current legislation.
• Implement the Trust's medicines management audit programme, focusing on improving standards and recommending action plans.
• Monitor and advise on standards of medicines management, ensuring safe and secure systems for supply, storage, and handling of medications.
• Ensure an effective supply of medicines relevant to the speciality, suitable for clinic use, and appropriately labelled for patients.
• Provide evaluated pharmaceutical and financial information as required by the Trust and relevant external bodies.
• Enhance the clinical- and cost-effectiveness of medicine usage, aiming to reduce risks and minimise waste.
• Apply both general and specialised pharmaceutical knowledge to optimise therapeutic programmes and improve patient care quality.
• Proactively offer advice and information on pharmaceutical issues to healthcare professionals and patients, acting as the first point of contact when necessary.
