What you will do:

  • Chair Looked After Children’s Reviews and act as a Duty Child Protection Chair when required.
  • Ensure statutory obligations and directorate procedures are met, focusing on the delivery of good outcomes for children.
  • Empower children and young people to express their views in appropriate settings, ensuring their voices are heard in their care plans.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of children’s care plans, challenging practices that do not meet local and national standards using established protocols.


Overview of responsibilities:

  • Lead the effective chairing of statutory meetings within children’s services.
  • Ensure that the voice of the child is integral to all care plans.
  • Manage performance by setting and monitoring standards and addressing poor practice.
  • Utilise your minimum five years of post-qualification experience and management expertise to elevate service delivery.


Experience required:

  • At least five years of post-qualification experience working in statutory Children’s Services.
  • Proven experience of management or supervision within children’s services.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively chair statutory meetings.
  • A strong track record in managing performance, enforcing standards, and challenging inadequate practices.
