Payrate: £26.36 hourly
This is an exciting ongoing opportunity for a Registered General Nurse, who holds a current prison clearance, to join the teams at HMP Styal and HMP Forest Bank. You can earn £26.36 per hour with shifts available across days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Day shifts at HMP Styal run from 06:45 to 20:30 and night shifts from 20:15 to 07:00, while HMP Forest Bank offers day shifts from 06:30 to 20:00. Full-time and part-time hours are available, allowing you to tailor your work-life balance.

What you will do:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with NMC guidelines.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as required.
- Manage acute and chronic health conditions, including wound care and long-term condition management.
- Undertake health screenings, vaccinations, and NHS health checks.
- Support safer custody by working with teams to safeguard patients at risk of self-harm or suicide.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in line with data protection and information governance policies.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, prison staff, and external agencies to deliver seamless care.
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
Requirements:
You must have valid NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse and current prison clearance is essential. Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are important, along with excellent communication, organisational, and record-keeping abilities. Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including nights and weekends, is required, as well as a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
