The Role – 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
- Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
- Provide 1:1 support to a student with complex needs (ASC, SEMH, ADHD, or developmental delays)
- Support classroom engagement, emotional regulation, and communication
- Assist with academic learning tasks tailored to the student's individual needs
- Implement behaviour strategies and help the student manage triggers and transitions
- Work with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support plans
- Track and record progress, providing updates to staff and parents where necessary
- Help create a safe, positive, structured learning environment that enables the student to thrive
Person Specification
- A degree in Education, Psychology or a related field (desirable)
- Experience supporting children with SEN, autism, SEMH, or behavioural needs (preferred)
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a calm and supportive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers and reach their full potential
