VGC Group are currently recruiting for a LCV Fitter / LGV Mechanic to join our team on a major project in Leiston, Suffolk. We are looking for an experienced and reliable LCV Fitter to inspect, maintain and repair a wide range LGV's. The successful candidate with have hands on technical experience and the ability to work alone and part of a team. They will also have strong diagnostic skills and experience working on LGV's.Basic pay rate: £19.10per hour PAYE Shift- 12 days on, 2 days off. 12 hour days Start Date: ASAP, subject to gaining vetting Lodge pay is available for the successful candidate, if they meet the criteria. As the LCV Fitter/ LGV Mechanic, your responsibilities may include: -Ensuring vehicles remain safe, complaint and fully operational -Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on LGVs, trailers and other fleet vehicles -Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults -Ensure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer and company compliance requirements -Complete preventative maintenance tasks and defect rectification -Replace and repair components e.g breaks, clutches, suspension, steering systems, gearboxes and engines -Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve fault codes -Conduct roadside breakdown repairs when required -Maintain accurate documentation -Keep workshop and equipment safe, clean and well maintained -Follow safe systems of work The successful candidate will have: -NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair ( or equivalent) -City & Guilds Light Vehicle qualifications (desirable). - Full UK driving licence. -MOT Tester licence (beneficial).-CSCS Card For the right candidate, this is a great opportunity to work on a major project on a long term basis.
