Get ready to bring your enthusiasm to a role where every day presents new challenges and learning opportunities.Perks and benefits: Here are some reasons to jump on board: - Flexible working hours mean you can have that perfect work-life balance, accommodating your lifestyle and personal commitments. - Access to ongoing professional development and training ensures you’re constantly stepping up your game and staying at the top of your field. - Benefit from a vibrant and collaborative work environment that values initiative and creativity, where your input is truly appreciated. - Indulge in fantastic local amenities and a healthy workplace culture that promotes well-being and satisfaction.What you will do:- Perform routine and planned maintenance on a diverse range of vehicles, ensuring all are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulations.- Conduct vehicle diagnostics and repairs using both hands-on expertise and advanced computerized systems.- Manage and prioritise your workload effectively, maintaining high standards of quality and working to deadlines.- Use a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring the workshop remains a space for productive work.- Participate in standby and rota systems, providing essential vehicle support during out-of-hours times including weekends as needed.- Engage in routine administrative tasks and documentation, maintaining accurate records for vehicle maintenance.- Support and promote a culture of safety, adhering to safe working principles and highlighting areas for improvement.- Work both independently and collaboratively as a team member, contributing to a positive environment.Requirements: - City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft qualification or equivalent motor vehicle maintenance qualification, NVQ level 2 or higher.- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.- A full UK driving licence (Cat B); readiness to obtain Cat C LGV licence within 18 months if required.- Experience in maintaining and repairing cars or light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.- Ability to respond effectively under pressure and produce high-quality work consistently.- A commitment to safety and quality standards.- Willingness to work toward becoming an MOT tester.- Must be willing to provide cover via standby.Why Stockton-on-Tees?
