The Company Long-established and financially stable operation High-usage, mechanically intensive environment Strong focus on safety, uptime, and preventative maintenance Well-maintained site with ongoing investment in equipment Supportive engineering structure with long-term job security The Role As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment in a busy operational environment.Key responsibilities include: Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repair on heavy plant and machinery Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment reliability Maintenance of bearings, chains, gearboxes, drives, motors, rollers and hydraulics Welding, fabrication, and mechanical fitting where required Supporting safe operation through inspections and remedial works Working closely with operations to minimise downtime Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards Shift Pattern 45-hour working week Any 5 days over 7 (rota-based) Mix of weekdays and weekends Consistent hours with predictable scheduling Salary & Benefits £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary (dependent on experience) Overtime available Pension scheme Training and development opportunities Stable, long-term role within a well-established site What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Strong mechanical fault-finding skills Background in heavy industrial, manufacturing, utilities, materials handling, or similar environments Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, apprenticeship, or equivalent) preferred Practical, safety-conscious, and reliable approach Why Apply?
