Data Migration AnalystContractCRM MigrationInside IR35£450.00 - £475.00p/d6 Months+Manchester - Compulsory 2 days per week on-siteASAP StartKey Responsibilities Data Analysis & Discovery Assess source systems to understand data structures, relationships, quality issues, and dependenciesProfile data to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and transformation challengesCollaborate with business and technical stakeholders to clarify data definitions and migration rules ETL Design & Development Design and build scalable ETL pipelines that extract, transform, and load data according to defined mappings and rulesDevelop and document complex transformation logic with clear lineage and traceabilityOptimise ETL performance through tuning, parallelisation, and incremental load strategies Testing & Validation Define and execute data reconciliation, validation, and audit processes.Implement repeatable test frameworks to ensure data integrity and completeness throughout migration cycles.Work closely with testing teams to resolve data discrepancies and refine transformation logic Data Quality & Governance Enforce data quality controls, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.Identify and document source data issues and contribute to data cleansing strategies.Support metadata management and ensure traceability of transformations Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Partner with solution architects, DBAs, and business SMEs to deliver migration solutions aligned with target architectureShare best practices, mentoring team members on ETL principles and transformation techniquesContinuously review and enhance data migration methodologies and automation tools Key Skills & Experience Multiple large scale data migration project experiences from design to completion, experience in a regulated environment a bonusDeep understanding of ETL design, implementation, and optimisation (e.g., SSMS, SSIS, Azure Data Factory)Proven ability to analyse complex data structures and devise effective transformation strategiesSignificant and deep hands-on experience with SQL, Stored Procedures and Data Profiling across relational and non-relational data sourcesStrong understanding of data mapping, lineage, transformation audit trails and reconciliation practicesFamiliarity with data migration strategies (incremental loads, delta handling, cutover, and rollback)Knows how to gain an adequate understanding of source data (data meaning, relationships, data quality issues)Experienced enough to know how to simplify ETL logic so that it is maintainable and not error proneExperienced with incremental loading and cutover strategiesProwess with data reconciliation and validationProject deliverables have included rehearsals, refinements, and learning cyclesExperience of addressing NFRs for performance, scalability & reusability Data Migration Analyst
