The Duxford site is a key manufacturing and distribution hub, supporting a wide range of industrial and specialist products and employing approximately 200 people. The Role We are seeking a Senior Warehouse Operator to join our Supply Chain team at a chemical manufacturing site in Duxford. Working closely with the Warehouse Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient handling, storage and movement of chemicals, raw materials and finished goods.You will act as a role model for safety and operational excellence, supporting daily warehouse operations and helping to maintain high standards across the team. Key Responsibilities Support the Warehouse Team Leader in delivering daily operational plans Allocate work to warehouse operators as directed Act as a role model within the Site Behavioural Safety Programme, promoting a zero-harm culture Carry out advanced warehouse activities, including tanker offloading and handling high-risk materials Operate FLT equipment safely and accurately (approximately 60–70% of the role) Offload and put away raw materials efficiently and safely Pick, deliver and manage raw materials and packaging to meet production schedules Collect and store finished goods from production Manage unloading of lorries and deliveries Complete cycle counts and stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy Liaise with Production, Logistics and Team Leaders to meet operational objectives Ensure compliance with SOPs and EHS standards, reporting and investigating incidents and near misses Maintain a ‘World Class’ 5S warehouse environment Deputise for the Warehouse Team Leader during periods of absence Participate in shift handovers and whiteboard meetings What We’re Looking For We are looking for reliable, proactive individuals with strong attention to detail and a positive attitude. You will ideally have: Previous experience in a warehouse environment (chemical sector desirable) Strong leadership or mentoring experience Forklift Truck licences (Counterbalance, Reach, VNA) or willingness to train Knowledge of SAP or similar Warehouse Management Systems Good computer literacy (MS Office) Excellent communication and team-working skills GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) preferred High standards of health and safety awareness Physical fitness and adaptability to changing priorities Non-UK candidates considered where no sponsorship is required and strong health & safety experience is demonstrated.

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same. You will work across up to 18 different workstations, operating plant equipment and chemical processes safely and efficiently to maximise production output.You’ll work as part of a flexible, motivated team on a rotating shift pattern, with full training provided on a wide range of processing equipment – from planetary mixers to reaction vessels – used in the manufacture of high-performance adhesives.A Typical Shift Start around 5:30am for coffee before shift Attend a handover meeting to review the previous shift and current priorities Rotate between different workstations during the week for variety Operate equipment such as 1,000-litre mixers Take samples to the onsite lab where required Key Responsibilities Operate plant machinery to manufacture, fill and pack products in line with SOPs Set up batches, weigh, check and add raw materials Carry out manual handling tasks, including moving batch materials Complete all production documentation accurately and provide clear shift handovers Clean vessels and machinery between campaigns to prevent cross-contamination Report near misses, incidents and maintenance requirements Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and housekeeping (5S) Work collaboratively to meet production targets and improve efficiency Skills & Experience Experience in a manufacturing environment (essential) – chemical manufacturing advantageous Strong attention to detail and numerical ability GCSE Maths and English (Chemistry or technical qualification beneficial) Physically fit – role involves manual handling and being on your feet Forklift licence or willingness to train Computer literate Reliable team player with a flexible, positive attitude Strong awareness of Health & Safety Career Progression Huntsman offers genuine long-term career opportunities.
